The history of the Universiade lived at the University of Salerno

In retracing the steps of the Universiade commitment, the rector Aurelio Tommasetti told: “In 2015, when the FISU came to visit our University, even before the assigning of the event to Campania, President Oleg Matytsin expressed real appreciation towards our university and sports facilities, structures that have received the maximum score from FISU afterwards, from then until May 31st 2019 we have designed, with internal resources and constant programming, all the interventions to be carried out to host the discipline of fencing at the new UNISA Sport Village on the Baronissi campus.
We have worked intensively for three and a half years, we have invested 5 million euros, in addition to the funding received from the ARR it was a commitment in which we strongly believed, involving our internal staff in coordinating the various activities throughout the region . The facilities, the PalaUNISA A, B and C of Baronissi and those upgraded to the Fisciano campus are a true legacy, available to sports and local sports and of course to our university community “.
