The University tour of sports delegations from 59 countries participating at Universiade 2019

The Heads of Delegation Meeting (HDO) visited the facilities of the Baronissi and Fisciano campuses: with the “Welcome Greeting” in the Academic Senate, the University of Salerno welcomed the protagonists of the event university sports program scheduled from July 3 to 14 in Campania. In opening the meeting the Rector Aurelio Tommasetti, accompanied by images, reviewed the interventions carried out and those in progress realization on the campus of Baronissi and Fisciano in view of the summer event: “Three new sports halls, a new bus terminal, the athletes’ village, the hospital unit, the volunteer program, the Fencing competitions and the Soccer training, the Unisa Stadium sports fields in Fisciano and Superga in Mercato San Severino. This is the sum of the commitment that our University is putting in place to best contribute to the 2019 Universiade. One a beautiful and full of young event that will be an opportunity to internationalize ours even more University, to make it known to the world and to allow our students to live fully, from inside the campuses, the atmosphere of a great university sports event “.

The vice president of the Fisu Leonz Eder said: “I am happy to be here today, on a wonderful campus with numerous services for students, services that will also support the running of the event. A a very well-known and modern campus that, thanks to its organization, will be able to host disciplines, competitions and training sessions and all activities planned for the event “.
“We are approaching the 2019 Universiade and the delegates of the various leading countries are visiting the sports facilities involved – underlined Universiade Commissioner 2019 Gianluca Basile. Unisa for us is a strength, with the its Campus context and the residency it guarantees. One of the goals is to leave sports facilities renewed to the territory and a cultural heritage to young people, which will also be possible thanks to training and curricular internships and extracurricular, an opportunity for important work experience for young people “.

The route of the day included a visit to the Unisa-Adisurc Village, ready to host 1048 young people athletes who will be guests of the University, and the tour at the new three sports halls on the Baronissi campus, le structures assigned to host the competitions and training of the Fencing discipline.
